Give every reference a job
One image might communicate the pose, another the color palette, and a third the room layout. Note the purpose of each reference before adding it. A small set of focused references is easier to reason about than a folder of images with no explanation.
Describe what should carry over
Write a short note such as 'use the side lighting and warm palette, keep the object shape original.' This helps separate visual direction from elements that should not be copied literally.
Try this: rewrite the brief using details that a viewer could point to in the image.
Use material you are allowed to use
Choose your own work, licensed assets, or references you have permission to use. Keep track of source and rights when preparing work for a client or commercial project.
Check the tool's actual reference behavior
Different systems interpret image inputs differently. Review the API documentation for supported file types, limits, and controls before designing a production upload flow. The studio uploads accepted reference files to the model provider for a generation task.
